Westhampton Beach on the South Shore. Yesterday was mild most places, misty and cold here. The Atlantic Ocean in December is a rough and fearsome thing.
Mesmerizing but not inviting

Froth washing up. What is that?

Looking into the sun, an odd effect

Seconds later this couple was swamped by a wave, which caused hilarity for them and all watching.

People and dogs kept arriving

The fourth shot down is my favorite, absolutely gorgeous. I sure would have loved to be strolling along that beach :)
all those beachy shots are good, I have never been to the beach in the winter, something to think about. how far is it for you to go there? It's about 1-2 hour drive for us, depends where , RI or CT, but a nice ride just the same.
Probably less than an hour's drive. I can't go there in the summer, don't have the parking sticker.
Of course there's salt water (the Sound) much closer, ten minutes away, but it's not as exciting as the ocean.
