American Elm?

The leaves certainly looked like American Elm to me. Is it possible there are still some large specimens here and there untouched by the blight? The "here" is New Suffolk, on the south shore of the North Fork of Long Island.

Did you identify the leaves? Some elms are being replanted, a new strain resistant to Dutch elm, and I have read that some were resistant and from those the new trees were developed.

Hi Lana. I didn't learn anything further. These may be disease-resistant ones. There are some old ones in Westport Point, MA, where I used to visit.
