A sight to see
Oh WOW! Here's one show I'd really like to see. Looted treasure returned to Italy and on display in the Colosseum, tables full of ancient Greek, Roman and Etruscan objects.
Looted artifacts

Blog questions
Whenever I upload a new post on my blog there is a message like this:
"You are currently using (number)MB (number %) of your 1024MB."
The percentage is creeping up. What happens when it reaches 100%? Is there any way to reduce the percentage? If I deleted some posts from my archive would the number go down? Is more than 1024MB allowed?
(I know I've posted this picture before, but I like it so much I thought I'd post it again. She's the goddess Flora from a seaside villa in ancient Stabia)

See how the cedars are bent over from the ice.
We had to cut them down.

Nessie
In my search for old photographs I'm coming across old family knickknacks. This is Nessie, the Loch Ness Monster, dating from sometime in the 1930s or perhaps earlier. On the reverse is stamped Thune 830S. Thune was/is a Norwegian silver company and I found the 830S explained on the site modernsilver.com:
Most European countries up until 1920s used 830s. Scandinavian countries used 830s silver like Denmark moved to using 925 silver in 1927 however even though a higher grade of silver was used by most jewellers in Scandinavia, they stuck to stamping there [sic] jewellery 830s as they did not have to pay a tariff to the assaying office for the change over to 925. So most Jewellery made by fine houses in Scandinavia will in fact be marked 830s but will have a standard silver of 925 ....

Goosey solution
I just learned what THEY did to the Canada Geese in Prospect Park. A pretty drastic solution to the overpopulation problem. Or is it? They are definitely a nuisance around here and in many places. Remember that airplane going into the Hudson in January 2009 ?
What do YOU think should be done to deal with this problem?
I like the idea of Shetland sheep dogs. They are so picturesque dashing over the landscape.
Here's an idea (killing two birds with one stone, so to speak): capture them and process them for their meat which could be frozen and given away at food pantries. Why not?

Some views of Kykuit
In May of 2009 I visited Kykuit, the Rockefeller Estate on the Hudson River. I never posted any pictures before as I was overwhelmed by the place. The sculpture collection of Gov. Nelson Rockefeller situated as it is in the gracious natural setting was truly amazing.
