oh my goodness, Priscilla - a true blast from the past!! What a contrast the two of us were -and- still are for that matter. I was trying to figure out when the picture of us could have been taken. We were in either 7th or 8th grade - about 13 years old.
This is so far back in that tunnel of time that it's hard to remember those little "acorns" that we once were!
I do remember that wonderful huge yard your family had and I loved your home - especially the side screened-in porch.
The perspective of Herb's house was a little confusing at first - I don't think that I ever really looked at it from the angle in the picture but I sure remember that tower!!
And the gravelly - it was such a formidible machine! I hope both Dick and George are doing well!
Thanks for putting these pictures up!! I've saved them off also ... Here's hoping that you give your new scanner a real workout!!
The day that photo was taken I was just heading off to riding class when you dropped in. You had a standing invitation to come over after school but only when your father was away could you get off your property. We all wore those "dungarees" after school. Only years later were they called Blue Jeans, then Jeans.
Interesting pictures! Is that the Gravely that Biddie's father had? If it is I remember using it to mow part of his lawn. I also used one to mow the lawn of our church cemetery. One powerful machine.
Hi Oppy! Did Biddie's father have a Gravely, too? Didn't know that. This picture was taken on our front lawn. Spring rolling was necessary with that heavy clay soil.

I love the shot of you & Mom, may I save a copy? Is Dick your brother?
Thanks for posting this up.
Of course you may. The white house in the picture with brother Dick is your dad's.
And the vertical line in the 2nd pic is You-Know-Who's Tower.
Those are awesome!! You girls have known each other a long time!

"You Know Who"
I Know Who because your name is at the top, duh.
I'm still looking for other photos from the 50s. (You needn't tremble, they're not so bad, as I remember.)

Yes, that's where I got to know the machine. Very versatile!
