Just finished

My latest knitting project. Someday I'll have to learn how to make something other than scarves, but in the meantime it's a pleasant winter passtime and the weather's about to turn quite cold. This hand dyed and spun alpaca yarn is from Beach Girls Purls in Long Beach, NY. I found it at a fair out East last summer. They advertise one-of-a-kind items. www.beachgirlspurls.com.

Thats beautiful, you knit so nice, everything is straight, me ...crooked and I pick up a stich like every row , I don't know how I do it., maybe because I like to knit with fuzzy type yarn? I still have the pink one you made me :)

Thanks for the compliment! I knit because it is relaxing, no thinking required, or at least it's a different kind of thinking with very simple decisions and immediate results. A few years ago I knitted dozens of little squares of various colors--a coverlet was the plan--and I laid out the rows so that the colors descend diagonally, but I never got around to putting it together. Well, I hauled out the bag and now I've started to complete that.
Let it snow!

My aunt can crochet and she is supposed to teach me that, she says it's easier, well I watched her show me a few basic stitches and I just about ran out the door! I think I'd rather play with my power tools!

I had forgotten how to cast off so I googled it and watched a video which made it crystal clear. I'd recommend that for learning basic stitches.

Power tools? I like to hammer things but I don't care for the noise of power tools.

Ha thats funny I had to do the same thing about casting off. You Tube is a great learning tool for many things.

I have a wood shop in my basement, it's my therapy! I make shelves, signs, etc, mostly to give as gifts but I sell stuff in a shop in New Hartford, I can't do it as a full time job because the $$ isn't great but it's a few extra dollars to put in my savings account.
