So true, so true - all the king's horses and all the king's men couldn't put .......

Is this from the New Yorker?

No, from the Economist, which is British, 2 days ago.

It burns me up the way the Congress is not treating this mess as an emergency. But then their record is abysmal in all areas, so what can we expect?

To be honest I don't really understand what the heck is going on...

And now the FBI is getting into the act! Actually if some people have been doing things illegal I hope they get them! I also hope they cut the strings on all the golden parachutes!

I agree with your sentiments, Oppy. And I do think there will be some stiff penalties and tighter regulation in the months and years to come. If we can just get through the next 7 days...

By the way, I know there are at least 4 of you out there who read this blog more or less regularly and never make a comment. (You've told me so) Please feel free to speak up! We won't bite! The more the merrier!

I'm absolutely disgusted and discouraged with the so-called "movers and shakers" behind the various credit and mortgage organizations that have for years been "raping" the average person in order to increase their personal accumulations of millions.

I want to see some true legal actions taken against all that participated in this terrible situation that has at last broken down and become so public (including any Congress members). At least they should have to return $$$ that they took out of the system and return it to the system - should also be restricted from participating in any more CEO or board positions for xx number of years.... But I also don't want to see people getting support for mortgages and houses that they realistically can't justify given their incomes. No golden parachutes, true criminal prosecution, give Congress a real kick in the A!!, etc. etc. etc.

On to the BLURKERS - there are several that blurk on my blog also - I know who most of them are and really wish that they would participate - they are interesting people and could add a really fine dimension to the conversations. So I'm with you - come on folks - add your comments - the conversations would only get better with you all in the mix!!!

The kick in the ass you mention should be administered as they are getting the old heave ho from the self serving things they're doing for their own pockets. They're as bad as the CEO's that have been caught with their hand in the cookie jars.

As for blurkers, I can't say much since I get into that mode with some frequency. If I don't have something to contribute I'm not gonna just blurt out any old thing!

... not pointing a blurk-type-finger at "The Op" - know where you are coming from kind Sir - your sometime silence isn't taken as shyness or anything else!!

But there are others that should take a gamble and participate - it's more interesting and fun than just sitting back and blurking.

So all of you dear folk - don't be a voyer - participate!!!

P.S. to Priscilla - sorry to move my soapbox in here to your blog - I need to take my soapbox and a copy this and boogie over to my own blog .....
