Don't know if the leaf blisters show up in these pictures.They are little pointy eruptions. The tree is large and otherwise seems healthy. Another post office area tree.
I don't thinks so. There was another old one not too far away and it seemed to be clean. It's not Dutch elm disease, I know that, because the trunk would be slimy. This area is under the control of the Stony Brook Foundation and they don't do much more than cut the grass. I almost took my clippers to a huge mass of suckers that were growing on these trees for 3 years or so, but they finally cut them off.

That poor tree does, really, have a problem! It's a shame - I wonder if it's too late to spray it this year .....
Yuck and they are such cool trees. Is it affecting all the winged elms?
