More pictures from Yesterday

Sorry, but there are such places

Wind ruffles thin layer of water on granite slabs outside the Holocaust Museum near Battery Park.

The queasy-stomach view looking down from the pediment of the Statue of Liberty. The pointed stonework is part of the old fort on which the pedestal was built.

Liberty Island has a bird problem, mainly laughing gulls and one persistent starling.

Looking up WaterStreet (?) crossing Wall Street. It wasn't as dark as the picture came out.

One of my favorite noises when I go to NYC is the traffic/horns, I love to hear it there but am very thankful I don't hear it where I live.

Kristen, Honking is illegal in NYC! You never hear it anymore. $350 fine. You must be thinking about an old movie set in NYC!

(( grin )) The last time I visited NYC (way back when) there was still very much HONKING!! Glad to hear they've made an effort to lower the din!

Love the water on the granite slab - a great visual effect - I'm going to keep that idea in the back of my mind for something to eventually do over at Possum Hollow.

There were the same problems with birds - both tiny and large (large as in the occasional seaull) - at the outdoor restuarants in Galveston. The same kind of signs were on the tables.

And, Wall Street - how innocent it is of all the people-related financial mess inside those buildings and in the institutions across the nation ....
