Same old, same old

In the same convenient depression on the same ledge at the library sits brooding a Canada goose which may or may not be the same goose that with its loyal mate hatched out 3 little chicks last May 9th whose sudden disappearance left us all wondering. These pix were taken on April 10th. We shall see! (My new theory: she grabbed each one by the leg and flew down with it at dawn)

Patterns, patterns - it must not have been too bad for them last year!! I hope the parents do well with their babies and the babies can safely fly off before the heat builds up too much again!

Keep an eye on them for any interesting photo opportunities.

Thats very interesting, same place to nest. My cousin who lives across from me with the pond has two ducks this year but they are mallards, there were 2 Canadian Geese but they flew the coop. If the others are there tonight I'll try and get pictures. They only come at dusk.

How long till the eggs hatch?

Hatching ... well, it was May 9th last year, so at least 2 more weeks.

She looks pretty contented sitting there. Maybe like those baby ducks that hurtle from nests way up high in tree trunks the baby geese are able to handle the leap down?
