Since today is William Shakespeare's birthday (1564 to 2011, you figure it out) I thought I'd check and see how many times the Bard mentions birds in his works. After all this blog is about birds and the classics.

Mallard hybrid

A tight-knit little duck family at Stony Brook Harbor showing that mallards and barnyard ducks can interbreed. They were very tame, almost as if they were used to being given handouts. Wonder how long the young one will stick around.
