Is this your father? He looks like quite the dapper gentleman! If so, were you there with him in India? I've read Rudyard Kipling, aside from his misogynist tendencies his stories were so fascinating about that time period in India.

This picture, taken between 1910 and 1915, shows my father in India with an electric car (whose I'm not sure). He was in his late 20s then, about 25 years before I came on the scene. He was a civil engineer. The British Raj was in control in India then. He met his first wife, Florence Sawyer, there and they had two sons who were educated in England. I don't know anything about this car except that it was electric...see front part where there is no motor. I saw an article in the Times last year about Jay Leno's old electric car. It looked just like this. I'll look for a link to the picture and get back to you.

Alas, no. One of them had a son who would be about 4 years my junior. Maybe the Internet can reunite the two branches of the family, but an awfully long time has elapsed.
