Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful

Let us pity those poor creatures who live their lives unaware of the wonderful features of our friend the lowly (but magnificent) dandelion. Herbal remedy, diuretic, delight for the eye, child's toy, wine source, salad delicacy, example of nature's abundance, avid marker of dog territory.... what more could you want?
Oh, all right, if you crave dandelion jam we can tell you about that too.

Ha! Oh you wicked woman!!

No, no. There are FACTS about the dandelion, cold, hard facts. You can disregard them only by becoming irrational.

Wait a minute...let me go find my rationality before I respond

(I know I left it somewhere around here).

Ah, there it is! Underneath that pile of common sense and social acumen that I've left moldering in the corner for the last few years...

Ok, here we go.

"Cough" Sorry, my rationality appears to be somewhat dusty.

At least two of your "FACTS" are pure conjecture based upon interpretations ~ a delight to whose eye, and a delicacy to whose palate?

Dang it...I have to go...the dandelions are watching me... I have to go hide in the rhubarb.

Hey gals! I rather enjoyed all this high-brow point-n-counterpoint on this toughest-of-all, and quite fetching, yellow-flowered plant.

I have seen it as an example of nature's abundance when, upon looking out my door, my lawn is more yellow than green ....

But how, pray-tell, does it serve as an avid marker of dog territory?

Cheryl - be careful of that rhubarb - it has some nasty personality flaws!

You can always tell where dogs have visited regularly. The grass is high and the dandelions are especially lush. Something to do with uric acid.

A delight to the eye ... of all those who appreciate the color yellow.

To the taste ... well, it doesn't have to be universal usage to make it true enough to mention.

I would have thought you kept your acumen in the spice rack, but each to his/her own way of housekeeping.

Gee wiz look what I started here!! I still don't like them, as a matter of fact, I pulled up three or four of the nasty weeds just today and tossed them into my fire pit.
