This is Winky, one of my feline herd from the 1980s. The picture was taken about 1988. Her mother was Becky, a black-and-white shorthair, and her father was Ginger, an orange and white Persian. I took both of them in as kittens. My irreverent vet at the time would say each time I brought Winky in, "Now that would make a pretty potty cover!" I could have slugged him.

She's a beauty for sure, no matter what the date stamp! Even tho' I have 2 fine doggers, cats are really my favorite ....
Irreverence can be a lively quality to have in a vet. Winky is a lovely cat indeed. I miss having a feline presence in my life, I wonder how one would fit in with my menagerie? If I were to get one, it would have to be a Siamese, they hold a special place in my heart. Here's a poem I wrote when I was 14 or 15 in honor of my own special Siamese that deigned to share his life with me:
The Cat
Supercilious and content
Scorns and defies
Silently a superior
Ahem...I didn't say it was a good poem...
Cheryl, that's delightful. Your mention of the Siamese made me smile. My first cat, in 1969, was a blue-point Siamese called Mushie. I had her for 19 years and still sometimes talk to her. She had a bunch of kittens that were mostly seal points. (A friend had a sealpoint male). I'll try to find some old photos and post them.
Kat Haiku ....
Cheryl I bet if you got a kitten it would fit right in since he/she wouldn't know any better, look at that guy that goes on Martha Stewart with his mix of animals, they all get along. Priscilla, you should definately get another cat. I as you can tell, love mine!
your kitty looks like it has a heart shape on her back
She had overlapping circles of black and orange, which made me think of tiddlywinks, hence her name.
I can't have a cat at present... landlord's rules. But if the real estate situation gets really bad maybe I can buy a house, and then I'll have multiple cats again!
