Our visit to the Met last September was so rich in images I never posted all the pictures I took. Now in dreary February I want to look at things that are not snow-related. How about you?

It has always amazed me how sculptors can make the hardest stone look soft as flesh. I love the statues, so beautiful.
The unattractive haziness in the pictures of the Greek vases comes from the protective cases they were in.
When you see the statues juxtaposed with the live human visitors it shows how really large and imposing they are.
