There are 300 policemen in the building!

And some of them are wearing skirts!
Today is graduation day for the Suffolk County Police Academy. When I heard the bagpipes skirling I grabbed my camera, abandoned my post at the reference desk, and dashed out into the lobby hoping to get some good pix. Here are a few of the bagpipe guys, relaxing after they piped the cadets into the auditorium.

One can only hope that it's not windy in your neck of the woods today :)

That's only if they were REAL Scots. I doubt they are. [snicker]

No, I did not! and you don't have to say it twice, I can hear you perfectly.

They had big blue fluffy hats when they were performing. Quite impressive (I'm easily impressed, though)

(( chuckle )) Kris does tend to have an impatient trigger finger on her "publish" button. That's ok, we all know that your slow speed is at about 50 mph, easily!!

Back over in TX, I was attending the Galveston Community College for some this-or-that course. There was also a police academy there also. Everyonce in a while, they would have some exercise/practice session and they would be running all over the building. They carefully had to post signs and post real policemen all around so that the regular students ouldn't freak out - it was quite a fine line thatwas walked because the drills looked really authentic!
