Lovely pictures! I like the middle one the best. They almost have a Monet like feel to them, the haze lends a soft impressionistic note.
Very nice :)

I take it back, I like the first one the best. It's like having a glimpse into an enchanted forest. You expect to see fairies fluttering about :)

Thank you, all. This lookout spot had been cleared and a bench placed there as it is the best view, a good place to sit and read... wish I'd had the time to do that. Biddie, we neeeed all these parks, what with the terrible traffic, congestion and millions of people on Long Island. Getaway places are essential.

Having worked in one of this country's premier state park systems (Florida state parks won the federal gold medal award twice in three years which hasn't been done by any other state), I have a better understanding of the work involved in establishing, let alone maintaining these little pockets of nature. They truly are a blessing in this hustle and bustle world; especially where you are, the parks are a true escape. I love seeing the parks in different parts of the country.

Maureen, if I didn't have to work for a living I would spend my time in maintaining parks. I think that's really worth while. If you ever get to Long Island I would be happy to show you (and anyone else in this e-neighborhood) a few of our parks. I feel lucky to be near water in any direction.
