A little lopsided, but colorful.
This is fun! The camera (Panasonic Lumix) has a 119-page instruction book, but I finally concluded all I really need to do is set the mode at Simple, point and shoot.
Today at work I copied the 15 pictures to a folder on my computer. Now I know how to do that so look out world, here I come!
These daffodils greet me at my front door and have promised to last another day or two so I can get a really good shot of them.

whoo hooo thats awesome!!! Yeah no one needs to read the instruction books, they run themselves now a days
You don't need no stinkin' instruction book!!!
Very pretty too!!!! Most digital cameras have a normal view and a close up view (it goes by other names sometimes). I mention that only because when taking nature pictures there will be times when you want to get really close up and personal with the subject.
I've had more fun with my camera...I need to burn some cds from all the pictures I have stored on my computer..I can't bear to get rid of any of the pictures...but I know I should weed them out. Here's a cheer for your new camera adventure!
Good Morning - look at what I've been missing! Congratulations on your 1st picture - those are beautiful daffys - I love the strong colors in them.
I agree about instruction books - just take a look at the first few pages so that you can find where the viewfinder and the clicker are located, then go for it! Only come back to it when you have some special needs liked timed exposures! I have to admit that I've never been patient enough to separate the f-stops from the what else might lie hidden in the camera's mechanical resources ... woeful attitude about such, I know ...
Thanks, all, for your good encouragement.
This camera has a 6x capability, so it's pretty flexible. The built-in memory has a varying size. In one mode it will hold only 7 pictures! I took the first 4 in that mode, not knowing any better, and was astonished to see that only 3 pix were left. I then changed to Simple Mode and all of a sudden it can hold 124 pix! Figure that out. So guess which mode I am going to stick to?
This is something like owning a new puppy--can't leave it unattended in the car (might be stolen or get too hot)... its resting place at home is a concern... have to get proper clothes for it (a case) and remember to hold onto the leash. At least it is continent. And productive.
