We had an unexpected stop by the side of the road in the Bronx as the air brakes on the bus froze up. For a while it looked as if we wouldn't be getting to the show at all, but after an hour the brakes unfroze and we went on our merry way. Since we arrived 90 minutes later than scheduled we were able to stay later which proved to be very nice as the crowds thinned out after 4:00 and I got my second wind.
A view of the side of the road in the Bronx.

Oh that is balm to my aching gardener's heart! Lovely!! I am going to plant more delphinium this year, aren't they breathtaking?!
What a glorious show!! I would have been sorely tempted to sit in the gondola :)
You would have been sorely chastened!
I didn't know many plant names but it didn't matter. The colors and scents and general lushness and the polite fellow gardeners combined to make a wonderful atmosphere.
Just wonderful!! Our annual flower show is this weekend down in Panama City - I'm going to head out for it in a little while - our local one isn't anywhere near as fabulous as the one in Philly but it still does things for the soul.
It worked out fine that you all got to stay to after the crowds thinned out. What an exhibit!
